A Place Where Landfall Means Home
The name Landfall comes from the property’s original owner, a naval admiral, who shared that when sailors first spotted land after a long voyage, they would call out “Landfall.” To him, it meant safety, arrival, and belonging. We proudly preserved the name, and honor that legacy with anchors, a lighthouse motif, and the spirit of welcome that defines everything we do.
Nestled in a private valley just outside Winchester, Virginia, Landfall Lodge spans 200+ protected acres, surrounded by rolling pastures, ponds, wildflowers, fruit trees, and grazing horses. Once you descend into the property, the outside world fades away and what remains is peace, privacy, and possibility.
From Family Farm to Beloved Gathering Place
Landfall’s journey into events happened organically. What began as a family farm became a place of gathering through meaningful moments:
- In 2014, Landfall hosted events for the Hunter Crane Foundation, created in honor of a young life lost too soon. Over the past decade, the foundation has flourished supporting local scholarships and community impact.
- Soon after, family celebrations followed. One son hosted a post-destination “barn party.” Another chose to be married right here on the farm.
- Word spread. After COVID, we made the decision to invest deeply in the property most recently completing a $200,000 lodge renovation, including a permanent tent pad for events over 300 guests.
Landfall Lodge today is a reflection of family, generosity, and intentional hospitality.
